Maple Syrup Festival PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday, March 27 a group of ministry-minded students went to the Maple Syrup Festival in Elmira to help Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) with presenting the gospel. The students alongside several other helpers and CEF representatives used mascots, puppets, a story room and face painting to clearly present the true Easter story. 450+ children and their parents came through the story room including colony Mennonites and Muslims. 20 children professed salvation because of this ministry. Praise God.

One of the students shared about her time and what she learned while engaging in ministry.

"Elmira was definitely an amazing ministry opportunity! Seeing all those kids just listening while we were telling them how God loved and watching them getting all excited about it was just so encouraging to me. Kids are really open and they love to hear what you want to say! Love it!!!"

Another shares about his time saying,

"After getting up at 5am to get ready to leave for 5:30 I definitely didn't regret it. When we first arrived there the people from CEF were very welcoming and told us all how it was going to go. The parts I enjoyed the most were being in the puppet both attracting the kids attention and being in the bunny mascot costume. It was great seeing all the kids that came in to see the real meaning behind Easter. I got a chance to evangelize and tell the story to many children; it was fantastic! I'd do it again in a heart beat... even if I have to get up at 5 am again."

What a blessing to see God blessing their efforts as they are engaged in ministry opportunities.
